Nokia BH-905 – Premium Headphone

As mentioned in my earlier post-N97 mini review , I got Nokia BH-905 headphones for trial from good folks at WOMWorld.Well I haven’t got enough time to play around it as i would have liked.
But whatever little time I spent, I was really surprised at quality of sound and comfort these headphones offered. So here is my short review for this great accessory.
I am not sure if Nokia has any flagship for their accessories just like their phones. If they have, then it has to be BH-905, just check this microsite or this link and you will know why. I don’t know how many accessories have their own microsites. But this is simply superb. BH-905 comes with its unique oval shaped case, specially made for this special product. This case is made up of black leather and feels like designer bag. This is case contains following items :

• BH-905 Headphone
• Audio cable with 3.5mm jack
• Extension Cable
• Adapter 2.5mm jack
• Adapter 6.3mm
• In-Flight Adapter
• Charger with std. Nokia small pin.
• Leather strap which can be used to attach with leather case.

All these items are fitted very well in case, Headphones have very well designed holding place.
  

Supplied cables are very long, almost 3m if you connect extension cable.
Here BH-905 trumps many other Bluetooth Headphones as it has all connectivity options covered out of box. It provides Bluetooth as well as wired connectivity to Music.
I found pairing to be very easy, almost like any other Bluetooth headphone. Press and hold power button on right headphone panel, LED starts blinking blue. Now Go in Bluetooth option of your phone and search for device, you should be able to see BH-905. Connect to it. Surprise was that on N97 mini , I was not asked PIN code which is 0000. That’s it. Next time you can just start your phone and connect. I paired with my N82 and N97 mini and found connection to be very stable within 10m range.
I am by no means an audiophile but BH-905 was really good when it came to stereo sound. It picked up low-high pitch very well.
Earphones are really comfortable to use and you can wear them for longer periods, only issue I had while walking it doesn’t feel quite steady grip and feel like coming off.But I will highly discourage anyone walking with these on as with almost 99% noise cancelled , you will be in high risk zone and can meet with accident easily, So use these in comfort of your home :)
Main advertised feature in BH-905 is ANC(Active Noise cancellation), there is switch to turn it on.Small Yellowish green LED indicates status of It works with 8 microphones capturing background noise and feeding to patented circuit to cancel it. 2 other microphones are used for user voice capture.Please note that using ANC reduces battery life.

You can pair any device which supports Bluetooth A2DP profile to enjoy Stereo Music sound on BH-905. All music controls are given on right side. You can easily skip tracks forward or reverse. Fast forward, Pause and Play. Power button is also used to receive and end calls.

I currently have BH-501 which is just shown below as comparison for size, I can’t compare it in featurewise as BH-501 was entry level Bluetooth Stereo Headphone.

Please note that BH-905 is still not available in India. Being flagship of Nokia Accessories it’s price is also top of the range. It is costlier than many Nokia smartphones at $299. But it’s obviously premium product and so is premium price. I am lucky to trial such premium accessory, Thanks to WOMWorld/Nokia again.
