Otherwise I always thought that Dwarka does not have 3G coverage, even though MTNL has launched 3G in Delhi in Feb 2009. NPD salesperson showed me in his N97 that MTNL 3G works well and Data speeds were amazing.
This E63 I got for 10.8K whereas in Mumbai least price was 11.5K.
I provided necessary documents, photo, filled form and next day my MTNL 3G number got activated. I used it with my Nokia N82.
I did Video call with my brother who used MTNL 3G in Mumbai.
Video quality was good and voice was also better,clear than normal 2G calls.I am pleasantly surprised to see quality of network as MTNL network was really bad few years ago both in Mumbai and Delhi.
Only 2 things I didn’t like about 3G Jadoo service.
1) I found hard to get settings for GPRS/3G/HSDPA, as default settings which Nokia phones configure refused to work. I called up helpline, but no real help, how many times that happens with so called helplines, I have lost count. Then I found link on MTNL website.
Also you can send sms as “Manufacturer Model Number” to 58354.
Nokia N82 to 58354 in my case.
You will receive settings within few minutes, Try to always use setting HSDPA as that gives best Data speeds. I tested speed on www.mobilespeedtest.com and constantly got over 1 Mbps.
Thats amazing speed, at least for mobiles in India.
Always remember HSDPA > 3G > EDGE > GPRS in terms of speed.
2) You need to buy Paper coupons from Merchants for special 3G packs. I can’t find anyway to do online recharge. Since I have MTNL office just opposite to my place , I don’t have to worry much but it can be problem for who are not so lucky.
Overall I am really happy with service and recommend you all to try it. Voice/Video Call rates are also low , with STD@0.75 Rs/min Share you experience here via comments.Following is link to MTNL site about this offer.

ReplyDeletei also tried 3g jadoo in dwarka , sec18a , but signal strength porr , and average downloading speed 60-70 kbps , , what to do now????????????but plans are good ,
ReplyDelete@Anant Thanks for comment. Which phone you are using? How is network if you select normal GSM mode? I was in Sec-7 , just opposite MTNL exchange , which also has tower. so speed was really good.
ReplyDeleteI am also planning to get a 3g connection for my Samsung wave s8500. My previous operator Vodafone have no 3g coverage in Dwarka. I am near sec-7, do you think I should try the MTNL 3g? Please suggest.
ReplyDeleteHi, I am no longer living in Dwarka now. but while I was there MTNL 3G was really good.I used to stay opposite to MTNL exchange. go with MTNL they are best.
